Animator: last shot by Eric Chou (rest unknown)

Film: Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse (2018)
The entire "leap of faith" sequence is an absolute masterpiece of cinematography and storytelling. Not only does it conclude Miles's character growth, but it's an absolutely awesome action montage with great pacing, shot variety, and, of course, body mechanics. Something to notice throughout all Spiderverse action sequences is how clear they keep the silhouettes, especially when the character(s) in the shot are shown smaller on screen. When they're that small, it really comes down to pure shapes, no detail. Something also incredible about this sequence here is how Miles is sometimes on 1s, and, other times, on 2s. Even when he's on top of cars, the cars are all on 1s, and Miles, on 2s, slides on top. We're all told to always make sure our characters have dead solid contact. But that's not the case here. And that's okay. This is a stellar example of why principles are not rules and how, once you learn the principles, you can break them when you have a reason to.
